1. General description
The European Working Conditions Survey
is a large-scale, European cross-national, longitudinal survey research
programme and is designed to investigate and describe working conditions,
the extent of and changes in the workforce and the quality of work.
2. Survey type
- Cross-national
- Longitudinal, with waves in 1991, 1996, 2000/2001 and 2005
- Representative national samples, ≥ 15 years of age
- Single core questionnaire (no varying modules, but the extent of the
questionnaire enlarges with every wave)

- 12 to 31 countries, depending on wave:
- 1991 wave: EU 12
